Why use us as trainers?

We are unique in that we are the only insolvency training provider that also works alongside IPs in the administration of cases on a daily basis.

This experience is applied in our training and brings the academic side of insolvency to life whilst also incorporating the latest developments for IPs into our lectures.

We do not adopt a "one size fits all" approach and often work with IPs to develop the right training programme for them and their staff.

Our Team

Sarah Jerrard, Director
I started my career in insolvency over 25 years ago, initially working for a firm of solicitors whilst studying for my law degree. Following graduation and the realisation that I wanted to be at the 'sharp end' of the profession, I moved across to a boutique firm of insolvency practitioners, administering all types of insolvency procedures.

In 2004, I began to specialise in bankruptcy, IVAs and compulsory liquidations whilst working at KPMG. I passed CPI in 2005 and JIEB in 2009. During my role as a manager, my passion for training and developing people began. In 2014, I was approached by a boutique insolvency training provider to join their team as their personal insolvency lecturer. Within that role, I co-presented with the IPA on the course that won them the TRI award for Best Trainer of the Year in 2017.

With the benefit of experience within the insolvency profession and as an insolvency trainer, I recognised the potential and added benefit to clients of combining these two roles. Consequently, I founded Efficient Insolvency Ltd and have since provided consultancy services to numerous firms of IP's, trained lots of students for CPI and JIEB and been a guest speaker for R3, SESCA and the IPA.
Sarah Harmsworth
I started my career in insolvency over 35 years ago, initially working for a boutique firm of insolvency practitioners, administering all types of insolvency procedures, including one of the first Administration Orders under the Insolvency Act and passed CPI with a distinction in 1996.
In 2007, I joined KPMG and began to specialise in bankruptcy and IVAs dealing with complex investigations and contentious litigation. Whilst at KPMG I became known for both my technical and compliance skills.and was a member of the firm's global Quality Review Team and remained with the firm for over 20 years.
I subsequently joined Quantuma as their Senior Manager for their Personal Insolvency Team overseeing the expansion of the team and dealing with a large portfolio of bankruptcies, IVAS and personal advisory engagements.
In 2024 I joined Sarah at Efficient Insolvency Ltd where I have the opportunity to use all the experience I have gained on a range of engagements.

Eiron Fitzgerald
My career in insolvency started as a junior member of staff, during the summer of 2019, when I joined Sarah at Efficient Insolvency Ltd following the end of the first year of studying on the LLB (Hons) Law at Solent University.

Over the next couple of years I juggled my part time role alongside my full time studying with insolvency clearly having an impact on my future career path. I decided that the topic for my final year dissertation would focus on the finances involved within the football world and its relationship with insolvency law. My dissertation received a high first grade percentage with my passion for the subject being noted by the assessors, and overall I graduated from Solent University in the summer of 2021 with a First Class Honours degree.

After university I moved to a full time role, taking on additional tasks and responsibilities, gaining experience in both personal and corporate insolvency procedures. I intend to further my insolvency career with the next step of sitting the CPI exam in June 2023.
Henry Targett
I am currently on my placement year from Coventry University. I am studying forensic investigation and insolvency is a great fit for utilising what I have learnt in the last two years at University.

Consultancy
COST SAVINGS:
There are substantial savings in hiring a consultant rather than a salaried employee with the same experience and qualifications as you will not have to pay us holiday pay, sickness pay, employer pension contributions or employer's National Insurance contributions.
EXPERTISE:
As consultants, we work with a number of IP firms, so we have a much broader and deeper knowledge of the insolvency market trends, challenges, technologies and processes than most employees.
TIME SAVINGS:
Our experience and knowledge enables us to complete tasks efficiently. This can reduce case time write off (where there are minimal asset realisation) and improve recoverability.
HIGHER UTILISATION
Our time will be spent entirely on the tasks that we have been hired to undertake - a 100% utilisation, compared to a salaried employee who will also need to spend time on office administration, appraisals, meetings and training.
